Re: Cornell Law School 2011
I'm now finding this thread depressing...I just want to be there and settled in already.
T-minus 7 days (maybe I should finish that Lincoln book before then?).
For those of you that are there...is Ithaca easy enough to navigate?
And has anyone in Hughes picked a meal plan? I have no idea what to do about that.

I'm here, and this thread is still depressing, because it makes me wish everyone would get here and classes could start so that we'd finally get acquainted in person.CampbellRh wrote:I'm now finding this thread depressing...I just want to be there and settled in already.
I'm a flatlander unused to climbing uphill, which kinda sucks. Downtown the streets seem to be laid out in a nice, flat grid, so it's not hard to get around. The bus system, on the other hand, is rather confusing for me. Still, I haven't gotten lost YET.CampbellRh wrote: For those of you that are there...is Ithaca easy enough to navigate?
On a completely different note, is anyone else here actually going to the academic orientation this week? (Sorry for bringing up this dreaded topic again.) I have this strange fear that there will be only 5 participants or something.

Reading this thread and the ones on the fb group get me wishing I was moving up earlier than I am. I'm not gonna get there until next sunday... arg
And like CampbellRh I probably should get on top of that book...

Why don't we meet at the ale house tonight in the commons? I have been there before and it has good food (if you are eating) and a great beer selection for drinking
.
Maybe 8ish? 9ish? I could do earlier but I'd prefer later since we are painting all day. PM me for my phone number if you want.
Those of you not here yet-- there will be many more outings to come
Oh, and my husband is coming with me.

Ok, then let's say 9 at the Ale House and hopefully I will see quite a few of you there!
Edit: And I'll probably leave just before 11-- I just discovered the latest bus to where I need to go leaves at 11

I'll be heading up to lovely Ithaca tomorrow morning, so anybody doing that academic orientation thingy, see you there! (This makes, what...3 confirmed participants? Sweet) I'm excited to meet all you guys! To Campbell, I just went with the traditional 14/wk plan. I'd rather have unused meals than find myself running out halfway through the week. Hopefully someone else will feel the same way and I can have a lunch buddy instead of eating alone.

I think I may get the one that is just one below that one.
and I'll be your lunch buddy! I get the feeling that most people are not getting plans with meals in the dining halls-we may be it!

Re: Cornell Law School 2011
So our schedules are up on the registration page! I get out of class at noon on Friday, but my Tues and Thurs suck. 4 classes!
Based on looking at the schedule and comparing it to mine-- I think I am in section A. Now to figure out which books I need!

Where is the registration page? And what is this academic orientation everyone is talking about? I didn't realize there was anything before the 25th. I must be out of the loop or something.

Re: Cornell Law School 2011
you many be out of the pre-orientation loop, but that is by no means THE loop... The way I always get to the registrar's page is via the uportal.cornell.edu page... on the left side of the "Student" section, it lists "My College" and the third choice therein is the registrar page

Registrar's page:
https://support.law.cornell.edu/student ... N=34164416
Whoa, this whole law school thing just got a lot more real.

Re: Cornell Law School 2011
So I got my schedule...but how are you all learning what section you are in?
I thought that only a sample schedule for Section A for Fall 08 was on the Cornell site.
Going by that, it appears that I am not in Section A, E, D or F. So...B or C I guess?
Also have a tough mon/tues, decent wed...and only 2 classes on thurs and fri. ::shrug:: Not bad.

Re: Cornell Law School 2011
According to the financial aid site on just the facts the federal loans should have been dispersed today, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Anyone know when those are actually dispersed to the school and how much longer after that it takes to get to us?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
