What I also really like about the townhomes is that I'll have a yard for some traditional kegs n' eggs. I might even have to make a trip to Home Diddy for some wood to make me a little Cornhole setup. All are welcome provided those with dogs bring them around!

So far we've ruled out that she had my password. I'm between she asked a mod to do it or I left my computer logged in and leaning towards the latter.
(As a related aside: you should have seen the other picture she was going to use. Dog was absolutely hideous and looked like a doggie corpse. It was gross.)

Huge housing breakthrough. The Woodlands are out of two-bedrooms, but instead are offering 3 bedroom flats at a $1500 a month rate, with a $1500 cash back signing bonus if you sign before April 30. They're drawing up my lease right now!
Now just to finalize getting a roommate... argh, Holly!
I'm moving in August 1, hooray!

I know the idea has been floated of taping a version of Real World: C'ville and seeing if MTV would subsequently pay us for it

I'm so happy that now I can basically have a 2-bedroom + study area for only $25 extra a month (actually less when you take into account the signing bonus). Housing stress is eliminated!

Ok so this may be kinda creepy, because I'm only waitlisted but I read these UVA threads constatnly.
Has any seen or have any comments on University Heights or Barracks West??
It's definitely no Woodlands, but seems much more affordable for those choosing to live by themselves.

Barracks West is far away, and out in the middle of nothing . . . and for what you pay, it's not that greatlishi wrote:Ok so this may be kinda creepy, because I'm only waitlisted but I read these UVA threads constatnly.

It could work, as long as we do most of the filming near the Woodlands' pools:SgtBilko wrote:I know the idea has been floated of taping a version of Real World: C'ville and seeing if MTV would subsequently pay us for it

I'm down for hanging out with girls in bikinis! Did anyone else notice how attractive all of the people were in The Woodlands' photo gallery? I thought that was pretty funny

Re: UVA Class of 2011 Housing Thread
When I was first looking at the Woodlands, I sent a link to my boyfriend. He was like, "I can't tell what anything looks like, they're showcasing the girl in the red bikini with big boobs more than the property." The community blog is more helpful, especially since the photo gallery has pictures from other Woodlands communities. The Charlottesville one is actually nicer -- stainless steel appliances!!!J-Rod wrote:I'm down for hanging out with girls in bikinis! Re: UVA Class of 2011 Housing Thread
I toured "the V" apartments today.
The Pros:
Staff: the people working in the office were really nice and helpful
Location: right on the corner, close to the law school, near bus stop
Interior: hardwood floors, up to date kitchen appliances, washer and dryer
Exterior: new building, garage parking
The Cons:
Location: right on the corner which means loud drunken students outside at least from Thursday until Sunday (this is fine if you are out there with them but not so much if you exams). I must say that I didn't notice much outside noise so the sound-proofing may be pretty good.
Interior: Kind of small
Overall: I liked Lakeside better. I really liked the kitchen and hardwood floors at the V, but the size thing is a hard for me to ignore. I think I am going to put in my application at Lakeside today.

Pretty sure the girl in the red bikini was showcased at some point at the Woodlands property in Athens...
It could be... gasp... MISLEADING!

Ubuntu -- they actually have a shuttle service, and during off-hours they have a concierge service (you call like a half hour before you want to be picked up). I admit that I wouldn't want to have to rely on that, but it's certainly doable between classmates with cars and that.ubuntu wrote:i want to live in the woodlands SO badly, however i am car-less. sad day, sad day! but if anyone living there wants to have a pool party then hey - i'm totally down.
