I've been skiing since I was 5, so yeah. I just prefer cross-country or snowshoeing.

Does anybody have some advice about winter coats besides getting a warm one. ie: good stores to look at. Particularly for a male.

I spoke with a few cornell alums and they all emphasized the importance of getting a jacket with a hood. Something like this would be awesome

Ithaca is at 14000 feet? Who knew?

No, really, I'd get something less bulky with a higher grade down and buy some base layers.

Haha...I waited until the due date to submit one. After submitting it, I received a message that indicated if the pic didn't meet format requirements, they would take a pic for me at orientation. I'm guessing if you don't submit it at all, you can just get a pic then. I think you do have to pay for it, though.

Gosh...I feel like I'm a little uptight. I paid $15 for a passport photo on a CD so I could submit it on time and you guys are just realizing it was due last week. I'm a tard.

I realized the night before that I had to submit it, but had no photos that meet the reqs...so I had my mom take a picture of me. I was ready for bed-so I looked awful, and my mom and a camera are not a good mix-so the top of my head is cut off ::shrug::...no one will see it but me, right?

And kn is right--they'll just take it at orientation--don't worry about it :)

I just took a poorly lit webcam shot and submitted that.... I fully expect to have to retake it at orientation :)

I took 5 different ones, picked my favorite and cropped it to look passport style. I did the same thing for my husband... perhaps I am a bit OCD on this.

I did something quite similar. I had several old passport photos from visa applications when I went abroad, and none of them suited me at all. I forced my brother to take a few new ones, and then cropped and did touch up with PhotoShop. If you are OCD, than so am I, and happily so.

If you read the 20 page thing they sent in the mail the other day, there is something said about how an ID picture will be taken if the one you provided was insufficient. I wouldn't worry about it.

I sent my picture in a week late...so who knows.

Any thoughts on the if-you-get-sick-or-seriously-injured tuition insurance? I'm torn.

I was gonna do it until I found out it doesn't cover nuclear radiation. Now I, like you, am torn.

KN, why does the TLS class of 2011 have you under Yale, too?

My concern exactly but I'm betting that my apartment has a fall out shelter, so I should be fine.

Are you on actually going to closely read the Lincoln book?

Maybe I am already reverting to short cuts but it does not exactly look like riveting material.
