I just moved into Avemore. The apartment was in good condition. The leasing office gives you a checklist so that you can note the condition upon move-in and return it to them. They're also pretty responsive with any maintenance, etc. So, I wouldn't worry about making a separate trip down.Waterman47 wrote:Question for anyone who has already moved in: Do you think it' a bad idea to pack up and move down to Charlottesville without having seen the apartment I'll be moving into? Is it necessary to overlook the place to make sure everything is in order before I come down with a UHaul, or are apartments (Avemore in my case) pretty good about giving you the place in good condition?

Re: cheap furnishings in Cville - I moved in last weekend, picked up a few things at Target on the cheap. The Wal-Mart is pretty rotten, and it's not a supercenter.
Is anyone living at North Woods at Four Seasons? I'm getting more than a little bored. I'd also be down for any get-togethers between now and orientation, and I'm here during the week if we need someone to reserve a shelter at the park for the 7th.

Well it only took 325 days since my first application was sent but my cycle is now officially over with my withdrawal from NYU.

Well, I'm moved into the Woodlands! All of my furniture is put together, bed, chest, night stand, desk, chair, etc. And this place is awesome . . . it's nicer than the pictures!

Yay, the fact that you're posting means that you have immediate access to the internet at the Woodlands. I'll be there late tomorrow morning!J-Rod wrote:Well, I'm moved into the Woodlands! No, sadly. I'm stealing someone's wireless . . . there is actually a problem with the internet and it won't connect . . . I guess a few of the move in's from this weekend can't connect yet, so we'll have to wait and talk to the leasing office on monday morning!

No shame in stealing wireless. I've been here in Avemore over a week and have been stealing my neighbor's signal until the Comcast guy came today to set us up.J-Rod wrote:sialeeds wrote:Yay, the fact that you're posting means that you have immediate access to the internet at the Woodlands. I would also definitely be up for something... maybe early this week? It's not too often that we have absolutely nothing that needs to get done, we should take advantage.

The family went over to the Blue Ridge Parkway and hiked to Humpback Rock - moderately strenuous, but well worth it; I have new pictures on my desktops. I highly recommend it.

I am officially moved in! I'm up for meeting up with people anytime (just not tomorrow, parents still in town)... PM me if you want to get together
Especially if you live in the Woodlands... because I'm here.
J-Rod, I am stealing internet too... but it's not really stealing since we're all technically a part of the same internet plan...
