Yeah, Greg and I used it to find a place. They have decent options, grad-only housing areas, and took a lot of the hassle out of searching. Only warning, beginning of May, they were very responsive. However, it took two weeks to sign the lease once we decided which one. They began dragging their feet. Don't know if they're over-whelmed or a service training issue.oomk wrote:Is anybody using Quadrangle, Wash U's off-campus housing affiliate, to find housing, or are you all doing your own searches?

Rhit, are you assuming a 9 month lease, or have you already found one?It is easy to add up to such a number: rent - $8,100 (9x$900);
I haven't really looked into Quadrangle, although I'm sure I'll speak with their reps at the housing day. On that note, who else will be attending next Thursday's event??

My lease is a 12 month lease. I only accounted for 9 months in my loan budget because I hope to have an alternate source of funding during the summer. Also the loans only cover the cost of living for the 9 academic months and they assume you will have alternate funding for the summer.NDray wrote:Rhit, are you assuming a 9 month lease, or have you already found one?It is easy to add up to such a number: rent - $8,100 (9x$900);

Hey Guys,
I have plenty of St. Louis photos. I've posted some of them to the face-book site for our class. It seems like a few folks are asking for them so I will post more over the next few days.
Quadrangle has a wide range of options, good prices, and most of their apartments are in great condition. They have very flexible terms, including terms of payment. Yes, if you want you can renew your place for the full three years. However, it might be wiser to get a place closer to school, and farther away from other attractions as a 1L, and move to a more active area for the following two years.
Fyi, once you settle on a place with quadrangle you most submit the security deposit before receiving your leasing papers. A small detail our agent forget to mention for about 4 or 5 days. Joe explains below.

For some reason I laughed when I read that.attractiveness of townies
I don't even have a digital camera of my own (I've never been one to take many pictures), so I'm afraid I won't be of much help on the pictorial side of things. But I'll definitely give a thorough write-up when I return.
Strawk, will you be doing any boozing down there??

Re: Washington University in St. Louis Class of '11
most likely not. i'm coming down with my dad (who surprisingly offered to cover most of my living expenses at school, so i have to play nice while he's around) and crashing with a 75+ year old great aunt, so the fun will most likely be limited. plus i'm heading to stl two days after getting back from nyc, and returning two days before heading to mexico for a week, so my liver could probably use the break.NDray wrote:Strawk, will you be doing any boozing down there??

Edit: Nevermind. I just saw your LSN link. We were/are waitlisted at many of the same schools.

I like red-eye flights, so I'll probably be in Friday morning and out (early) Monday morning.
As far as hotel rooms...I smell pre-funking.
