doesn't uva law school have it's own library? i kinda skipped that part of the tour...

I'm not sure why a law student would need to venture into Alderman; Morris is lovely. I studied for the LSAT there- felt like there were good vibes... you didn't miss anything on the tour, like J-rod said, you caught the important parts.

o ic... i wasn't sure why the discussion focused on libraries...

i'm a bit burnt out about reading... the concept of reading for fun doesn't register in my brain. after so many years of reading to get good grades has messed me up for the time being.

You can usually get tons of books that aren't scholarly from school libraries. I get all of my reading from 'em. English departments need lots of really pointless books. I got a really trashy murder mystery from the 80s at mine.

Oh, well the UVA libraries are pretty current with both fiction/non-fiction non-academic reads. But there are three (that I know of) public libraries in Charlottesville too (http://www.jmrl.org/), the closest one to UVA is Gordon Ave. Like everywhere, people here treat B&N like a library, but if you prefer a less-commercial local outfit, C'ville Coffee has a honor-system type free lending library (not too much recent, but often good reads nonetheless; I picked up Primary Colors and a Kennedy bio there last week).

Bilko: I think you misread my post. I already have a job on LI, but thanks for offering help. And you're right, I'm from eastern LI. Far out. Why did your gut tell you that? Everyone I always talk to from LI is from Nassau County. What part are you from??

I figured as much. I meant places to go. I'm from Nassau, but I know the East End a bit, and I knew it was out East because those are the only summer jobs worth having.

It's a giant tent. It's only open on Sundays from 12-8. Beer is $2 a cup and don't wear anything you care about.

EDIT: And to elaborate on how ridiculous the above place is, I got there at 12 and actually got in at 4. Luckily, there was a liquor store next door to go slug airplane bottles.

yes, but they won't start producing the ID cards until August 1st

I'm probably going to go with College Foundation of North Carolina. My undergrad loans are through them and they offer pretty good deals.

I love their repayment reductions, wesleybs, but you need to be a resident of NC, a previous borrower, or attending a NC college to qualify with them.

I'm thinking in the next few weeks, there's going to have to be one major bank that doesn't get rid of its incentives, if only to simply mop up all of this business. Or that might just be wishful thinking.

I just received an e-mail from Phoenix School of Law saying that they were still accepting applications and that there was $$$$ available. As I am very debt averse, I think I may have to do the smart thing and head out west. Good luck y'all.

Yea me too. I just received an envelope from Rutgers Camden saying that I can apply and will get a $7,000 per year scholarship if I'm accepted.
