haha. interesting. I just moved here from baltimore, so I just figured wind and rain like that was normal. we got tornado warnings like once a month from april to october.

so that's 2 suckers for NU Law fantasy football. we could, if we were sick, make it a no transactions league so we don't take away valuable studying time.

you should give it a try corsair. i find that I don't pay much attention to football if I don't have a fantasy team, but that I do enjoy paying attention. the competitive part just overcomes my nature to procrastinate. kindof like how grades and making money keep people interested in their jobs. it has other uses too. i'm commish of an auction keeper football league that was created as a way to keep a group of high school and college buddies from drifting apart as we moved away. now that I can't watch the ravens, i'll need it even more to pay attention to football.

be honest. how many teams do you actually follow? when I play fantasy, I follow absolutely everyone. when I don't, I pretty much only follow my home team and the teams in the division, which isn't nearly as much fun.

I have never sat and watched a football game in a bar. maybe you'll show me how it's done.

I think I'm game for Thursday, if it's not too early in the evening.

You think you may be able to trick us even though you've just tipped your hand on a public forum? Rookie mistake...

So, the plan is to meet at the Harry Caray statue at Sheffield & Addison in Wrigleyville at 9 PM tonight.

Hope to see you all there.

So when I look at the schedule of courses, it lists at the bottom of some courses things like "business concentration elective." does that mean I need to be part of the business concentration to take it? or what does that mean?

So far as I know all that that means is that the course serves as part of the required classes to get a business concentration certificate. I don't believe that they are restricted to people who are pursuing such a certificate.

oh. dandy. many of the concentration courses looked like the most interesting.

Which are the more popular courses that are very difficult to get into, and which areas are usually more under-enrolled?

The more popular courses are the ones taught by so-called "rockstar" professors: Rubinowitz, Reddish, Presser, Speta, Cohn...you'll get to know who they are. When it comes time to bid for classes, you can also look at "bidding histories" to see how many points the sections taught by specific professors went for in previous years.

So what's with this 3 course package of evidence, trial advocacy, and legal ethics with the ITA suffix? Is this offered every fall semester?

That's my understanding. I hear it's really the best way to learn the three courses because you're applying everything and seeing how it works together. Just taking Evidence by itself, I hear, is very dry.

They've changed the way ITA works this year. There will no longer be a forced curve. Instead, it's three sections of about 30 people (which is under the forced curve) but they're taught at the same time by the same teacher. Should be interesting.

Yeah, it looks really interesting. I'm going over the course list and making notes of courses that really interest me. I made a list of about 35 courses that I thought would be interesting, so I'll obviously have to whittle that down over the years.

What does ITA stand for? Is it only used for that particular package of courses? How do you bid on a set of courses when they're co-requisites? like did you just bid max points on the package as a whole and then the minimum on the rest of your schedule? could you somehow end up winning some ITA classes but not others?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
