Some people appreciate jokes so bad that they're funny. Apparently not this crowd

You know back in my day, a good pun was respected.......

Whoops, sorry, sorry...

Anyway, not really looking for a roommate, but definitely willing to host an occasional gathering / get-together / hoe-down / hootenanny.

I am another political junkie. Considering that Virginia has an election every. single. year. people who live here mind as well learn to like politics.

On the issue of housing... These websites are good resources: http://www.brac.com http://www.hoohasit.com and http://www.onthegrounds.com

I don't know Bilko... I appreciate a good pun as much as the next guy (a college girlfriend once threw an Edgar Allen Poe doll at me and called it a "poe-jectile"), but I think even you knew how bad that one was as you were typing it.

My jokes would get more laughs if they were all posted with this picture:

Darling, I knew i wouldn't be the only one! I've never voted in a polling place so I'm not too excited about it, my state doesn't have polling stations.

They ran out of stickers during the primary so I wore one for 2 days on my jacket that said "I'm A Future Voter"

Sorry for my ignorance, but where does one vote (if not absentee) if not at a polling place? What does the rest of the country do?

(oh, and my polling station is less than one mile from my house, which *if* went to Virginia I would keep... there, no hijakcking, my question was housing related!)

Maybe she was foreshadowing that one day you'd attend Poe's alma mater. On the Corner they sell a Poe shirt with just his shadowy visage and a caption that reads "Dropout". I've been meaning to get myself one of those.

There's also the Edgar Allan Poe sign across from Alderman/Special Collections.

It's going to be disappointing when we all get put in different sections. We should all get T for TLS.

I'm sure we'll all be in sections with a least some other TLSers

I voted absentee in Arkansas twice and never set foot in a polling place there. Unfortunately, my 2004 ballot didn't stop the darn state from approving its gay marriage amendment by a 75/25 margin...

Oh, and I suggest Craigstlist and other local listings to find places in Arlington Court. Since those are technically condos and not apartments, there's no central leasing office, so it's private owners who lease them to students and the like.

Keep this up and we may have to push J-Rod to rename this the "UVA Class of 2011 Housing Thread and Tangentially-Related Political Discussion Forum."

But maybe you stopped it from being 76/24!

Is Arlington Court nice? Any idea on amenities and rent? I kind of dismissed it because I didn't feel like doing the legwork to find individuals to lease from.

Statistically, there's a good chance that at least two of us will be paired up. Like how in a kindergarten class of 30, odds are surprisingly high that at least two children will share the same birthday, counterintuitive as it sounds.

Oregon has no polling stations, all elections are by mail. It's a really great system. it's considered more democratic because polling stations require people to have the free time to attend, which keeps a lot of poorer people from voting, because they have to work. It is also cheaper than polling stations and has a higher rate of accuracy. It's touted as the way of the future. Kerry and Obama are big supporters of it.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
