Re: UVA Class of 2011 Housing Thread
I need TV advice.
I want to get a bigger TV, but I'm not sure which route to go. An LCD/Plasma will take up less space, but I could afford a larger TV if I went with rear projection, but they're kinda ugly.
Does anyone have a rear projection? Is it too huge? Will I have trouble moving it?
Also what are you thoughts on buying a TV on craigslist?

If you're gonna go rear projection, only do it if you're gonna get DLP . . . and then get a Samsung DLP, cause those are badass. I sold high-end tv's at best buy for a while, so PM me if you have more detailed questions

Dear UVA THREAD,
Although unable to commit to UVA as a school, I am highly commited to you as a class. Therefore, I would really like to get together in August for a cook-out. If someone would like to host, I'd very much like to be a part. If no one wants to host, I might even put one together. I have no regrets on my decisions, other than you fine people, and I'd like to have a chance to hang.
Sincerely,
Aguyingeorgia

those rates look about right...there is a lot of variability depending on the floor and type

Thanks.... Talk about a wide range of rates. 779 to 1079 for a one bedroom?

the waitlist games are beginning - chicago has started already.
this is what happens when you're on 5 waitlists. i should probably withdraw from some of these soon, oy.

Haha, the first thing I did when I was admitted to UVA was look at different apartment complexes online! I guess I'm just excited about finally getting a place that I can call my own (college dorms just aren't the same).nipplehead wrote:i feel you on that ubuntu

Nipplehead what apartment complexes are you interested in? JRod and I still need a 3rd in the Woodlands. Only pre-requisite is that you have to be down with a having a fully stocked bar.nipplehead wrote:i feel you on that ubuntu

I looked at apartments before getting the decision from UVA. I'd already picked the ones I wanted to tour by Christmas.sialeeds wrote: Haha, the first thing I did when I was admitted to UVA was look at different apartment complexes online! How nice apartment complexes were and how much they cost was a factor in my decision of school.

I'm actually really excited about the deck. I need to measure it before I get patio furniture. It's going to be a little garden. I'm gonna plant herbs, tomatoes, etc. I plant herbs in-doors right now, but they don't get as big as they would outdoors.Bun B wrote:What are you using the deck for?cantwaitforuva wrote:

I'm also thinking about renting a little plot of land at one of the local parks so I can do some real growing (corn, zucchini, pumpkins, etc.)

Yep! Azalea Park rents 30'x30' plots. I'm gonna call tomorrow to check prices. I'll keep you update. We should get plots next to each other and we can carpool to the park.ubuntu wrote:
