Good call. Brandy's sweetness complements cigars a little better.
If you're looking for an exotic scotch (or just a kick in the teeth), try Macallan Cask Strength. One of my favorites. At 120 proof, it'll definitely put hair on your chest.

i'll have to sample that sometime. strongest stuff that i've had and kind of enjoyed was booker's bourbon (126.5 proof?)
though i'm the goose, when i'm not at the bar, i rarely go beyond a nice glass of scotch. walker black, gold, chivas regal and chivas 18 are utilized most frequently from my shelf.
this past weekend: macallan's 18 enjoyed from a riedel single malt glass was delicious.

Re: University of Virginia School of Law 2011
undecided:
was in the keys this past week for break and had a wonderful churchill made the same day. but usually the monte cristo #2 and monte cristo churchill rock my socks. honestly, i don't smoke that much, but when i do i want the good stuff.
if i end up at copeley (though it's frowned down upon
) i might have some extra $ to buy a few nice bottles of scotch and a set of those glasses. you're all welcome to come on down and savor some spirits.

Is it bad that the phrase "hair on your chest" immediately reminds me of Hawkins v McGee? Imagine how pervasive that instinct will be once we know more court cases than just those profiled in Hollywood movies...Wellsfargowagon wrote:...At 120 proof, it'll definitely put hair on your chest.

So...I first started considering UVA when I played a season on NCAA 2007 with a Jack Sparrow at reciever for them and I got addicted to the thought of football games where I get to feel like its new years. A little ridiculous perhaps?
Disclaimer: I did become infatuated with the school though once I looked more into it, so I'm not making my decision based on a video game. Rather, I started to make my decision based on a video game.

monte cristo is a superb choice . . . I also like a good macanudo, or romeo y julieta. I don't smoke too often either, but could make a weekly habit of it

I was kidding about the clothes, though absolutely serious about the booze. Not to say I can't go cheap... getting schooled in beer pong on my last visit reintroduced me to Natty Light and the Beast, neither of which is nearly as bad as I remember from college.

i'm always up for beast/pong/etc.
though i like to savor my scotch and brandy whenever possible.
seems like we're gonna have a rockin' three years. i propose softball/cheap beer/cheap spirits thursday-friday and highlife night on saturday. we get our irresponsible fun "earlier in the week" and a little culture to wrap it up all nicely on saturday.

I am sooooo looking forward to UVA
Today when I went into my orthopedist (I messed up my knee really bad skiing at WINTERGREEN this January!), my Dad bragged about how I got into UVA law. Turns out his son is at Darden... he said all the business and law students do is "network," drink, and party. His son came home last weekend for a day before he turned around and went back to Charlottesville because he loves it so much

And don't forget Rock Band. The law students love their Rock Band.

Highlife night sounds sweet! Sample a nice scotch until it tastes like dewars and the cigars taste like black & milds!

Despite having attended UVA for 2 years already for undergrad, the whole culture is still totally out of my element...you'll never catch me at Foxfields or wearing a tie on a Saturday afternoon in the Fall. I am down for softball or flag football and attending football and basketball games though.

Phew... I was starting to worry a bit/get a little overdosed on the scotch/whiskey/bow ties/pastel talk...gladiator wrote:Despite having attended UVA for 2 years already for undergrad, the whole culture is still totally out of my element...you'll never catch me at Foxfields or wearing a tie on a Saturday afternoon in the Fall. I, on the other hand, am interested in hiking in the Blue Ridge and appreciating not living in an urban area. And, UVA also has a great soccer team!
