Re: UVA Class of 2011 Housing Thread
Does anyone know if we are getting a hard copy of the award letter or if we just need to do everything online?
Also, do any of you know if we will get the second deposit card in the mail or if we need to print it off and mail it in?

Well since I didn't work last year, I don't have a W2 and I'm guessing that means I don't have to fill out a verification form. I probably made 12 cents in interest, so I should be ok there, too.sialeeds wrote: Verification form, and a W2 if you have one (I also sent my bank statement that says how much interest I made in 2007, since that was the majority of my income).

I went ahead and sent the hard copy -- the harder I looked at it, the more it seemed like it needed to be sent. Better safe than sorry?doublehoo22 wrote:Does anyone know if we are getting a hard copy of the award letter or if we just need to do everything online?

I'd assume they'd send us the second card, but it's available online, so if it gets close to the deadline, just go ahead and print it off. But they're probably just waiting for the first deposit deadline to pass before they send those out.

I think you still may have to fill out the verification form and just check that you will not be filling taxes and then fill out that you had no income. I am not sure so I would call to be safe.cantwaitforuva wrote:Well since I didn't work last year, I don't have a W2 and I'm guessing that means I don't have to fill out a verification form. Has anyone claimed nipplehead, ubuntu, or OldBlue yet? J-Rod, you should periodically update the first post so that it includes a comprehensive list of all of the TLSers who have announced their decisions to live together next year.

Ubuntu is probably living with me, OldBlue might be living with me. Nipplehead isn't even UVa committed as far as I know.
SonofCicero, you're going to UVa?

Probably not, but if I did plan to matriculate I would have tried to reserve your future roommates and nip. I hope you're up to the task of acting as my surrogate next year. Basically, this just entails annoying everyone by pontificating over irrelevant subjects and rolling your eyes whenever nipplehead starts outlining his nuanced beer pong rules.

Yea me too. Anyways regarding housing (yes the theme of the thread or at least was the theme) I am planning on living in the Woodlands with J-Rod and a 3rd roommate TBD. If you are interested let either of us know. And if you have a 50" plasma HDTV PM me right away.cantwaitforuva wrote:You sent a hard copy of what? I'm stilll new to the plasma vs. LCD thing. Why are you going for plasma? I've heard bad stories about burn-in and how long the tv lasts before dimming. What are its advantages over LCD?

I would love to live in the Woodlands but they have to pick it up and drop it on top of Copeley. It's so frustrating choosing between the convenience of North Grounds and the quality of non-North Grounds.

I'd assume so since they said they wouldn't know anything about "leftover" money to disperse until after the 30th.

k good. the letter doesn't mention anything of the sort, so i figured it must just be the normal deadline. it'd just suck to lose 60K because i didn't accept in time.SgtBilko wrote:I'd assume so since they said they wouldn't know anything about "leftover" money to disperse until after the 30th.

I'm possibly looking for a roommate if anyone is interested. I'm kind of into finding a place myself (have some leads) but would be also possibly be down with hooking up with others who already have found somewhere. Anyone somewhat interested?

Can't win 'em all...still time to comeback though. Franky 6-6 is a success given how badly they've started in recent years.
People yelling "Youk" every time he touches the ball is wicked lame. (We get it, you're all clever fans who can make a noise that sounds like Boooo but actually isn't)

What are you looking for? (Walking distance or not, amenities, etc) A lot of people have divided into camps based on type of housing already.rsr28 wrote:I'm possibly looking for a roommate if anyone is interested.
