Re: UVA Class of 2011 Housing Thread
i'm just going with one notebook for the time being. i ordered a 20 inch lcd and wireless keyboard/mouse to dock my notebook when i'm in my room. i'll prob end up getting another hard drive if needed, though with all the fantastically cheap 4gb and 8 gb usb sticks, that seems hardly necessary.
additionally, what stuff do we need for softball season? i assume bats are provided? i assume no helmets are necessary? i currently only have my baseball cleats and glove.

Oh, c'mon, live a little! People of all skill levels play softball and have fun no matter how good they are.cantwaitforuva wrote:so... I'm not athletic. Will I be ostracized for not playing softball?

Yeah, I'm not very good myself (despite my brother going to college on a baseball scholarship and my sister on a softball scholarship), but it's a ton of fun. You'll love it.

The arm I hurt happens to be my throwing arm. I feel confident I might be able to throw a piece of paper in a recycling bin at some point.

You're female--for purposes of fielding a softball team (where a minimum number of girls are needed), that makes you more sought after than gold.cantwaitforuva wrote:I'll give it a shot, but no guarantees. I can't catch worth shit.

Re: UVA Class of 2011 Housing Thread
My team has forfeited way too many games because we didn't have enough girls playing. So yes, it is sexist, though certainly not in the normal sense of the word.aguyingeorgia wrote:What a sexist comment.bauerahl wrote:You're female--for purposes of fielding a softball team (where a minimum number of girls are needed), that makes you more sought after than gold.cantwaitforuva wrote:I'll give it a shot, but no guarantees. Do we have to send in parents' tax returns too?

Good, then I don't have to send anything in, right? (I didn't file taxes this year)aguyingeorgia wrote:Fairly certain the answer is no.
I just have to do the Stafford and Gradplus apps now. Am I forgetting anything?

Verification form, and a W2 if you have one (I also sent my bank statement that says how much interest I made in 2007, since that was the majority of my income).cantwaitforuva wrote:Good, then I don't have to send anything in, right?
