The thought of somehow transplanting my life minus my furniture to NY is scary!

Furniture is such a fleeting thing...you will encounter more of it many times in life...don't get too attached to it.

Re: NYU Law Class of 2011
Hey folks.... I just deposited. Now what do I do?
Perhaps I'll go shoot hoops to train for next year's Dean's Cup game. It's never too early...
Seriously though, is there anything I should be doing/thinking about (besides housing, of course)?

Thanks!
Gah, I need a $500 deposit??
How do you choose which letter in each building to pick? Are the cheaper rooms in the same building/setup noisier or something?

It seems the cheaper rooms are smaller and on lower floors.

I'm gonna fax mine in on Monday.
Don't do this, but if they are late, it probably doesn't matter too much. For Mich and CLS, I sent those in way late, and they didn't care.

Tax forms? Am I missing something? Are we expected to send in something other than the FAFSA? I don't see anything about tax forms on the Enrollment Checklist.

You have to send in copies of both your and your parents' tax returns to verify the stats you entered for the FAFSA & the NYU Financial Aid app.

What happens if you got a big, fat $0? Can't really penalize you in any way for not sending those in.

Re: NYU Law Class of 2011
To all of you present/future NYU go-ers, what score did you receive on the LSATs?
I have another question, but before i proceed...
I'm currently a Queens College student:
- 3.65 GPA (weighted LSAC scoring) -->3.75 GPA in reality (i retook a D class and C+ class. Im aware that LSAC recalculates EVERYTHING on the transcripts so it will still be factored in, unfortunately.)
- High Honors in Finance
- Honors in Economics
- Honors minor in Business and Liberal Arts (BALA)
- Internship experience at Merrill Lynch
- Internship experience at Citigroup Smith Barney
- (Possible) Internship this coming semester at the Chairman of the Finance Committe of New York Citys office
- Co-Founder of a "now small" website. I have not yet implemented our marketing strategy and cross-advertisements.
- Up-coming Co-author of a published article with an PhD associate professor (to be published in an economics journal)
- Teaching Assistant for a 300 level, "advanced" finance course
- Tutor for advanced Microeconomic theory
- Ex board member of a fraternity (portrays leadership skills over an extended group of young-butting heads)
Considering my credentials, what would I require on MY LSAT? And, are my credentials deemed worthless? In other words, do any of my credentials matter at this point or is my acceptance heavily weighed on my LSAT?
Thanks guys...

Where did you see this? I was looking through the "admitted students checklist" (and also the financial aid page) and didn't see this anywhere...latetothetable wrote:You have to send in copies of both your and your parents' tax returns to verify the stats you entered for the FAFSA & the NYU Financial Aid app.

Re: NYU Law Class of 2011
A couple of questions first. What do you mean by honors? Are your internships actual work experience, or are they college internships done by a typical college-age student (18-21).isaaca wrote:To all of you present/future NYU go-ers, what score did you receive on the LSATs?

Unless you are a finance/econ genius, and your internships had you work as an analyst or something important, those softs are typical/ good, but not really helpful.
I had a 3.75/ 172, and I got in in December. So I think you'd be fine with a 172, score higher and you're in no problem. you can probably score a 170/171 if you have good recommendations/ personal statement/ make your softs sound better than they were (assuming they were typical college experiences. They may be real experiences, in which case you can bullshit less)
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
