Indeed. Considering that the offices are somewhat separate, I'm surprised they weren't more on the ball about getting these out.

sorry to divert this thread back to housing
but does anyone know anything about the jeffersonian apartments on arlington? they seem really inexpensive and are really close to the law school... http://www.jeffersonianapartments.com/

I checked them out on apartmentratings.com. They were 73% positive reviews, which is really good for a site that attracts negative review. Do you have any pictures of the actual units?ubuntu wrote:sorry to divert this thread back to housingbut does anyone know anything about the jeffersonian apartments on arlington? they seem really inexpensive and are really close to the law school... http://www.jeffersonianapartments.com/

Re: UVA Class of 2011 Housing Thread
Information for my potential Graduate Centre roomies...
"If you and your friends would like to lease out an entire 4BR/4BA apartment,
we would be more than happy to accommodate you. You may have individual
leases for your suites or you may sign a group lease. If you sign a group
lease, we'll give you a discount on the monthly rent, but it would also mean
you all would need to arrange to pay the monthly rent in ONE check rather
than paying in individual checks.
We currently only have two apartments where all four suites are available.
Apartment number 3 and 11 are available. I have attached the floor plan
that matches both apartments. As a group lease, the monthly rent would be
$2,000.00 and the utilities would be $320.00 per month.
As individual leases:
Suite A - $495 (standard suite with extra window)
Suite B - $485 (standard suite)
Suite C - $535 (suite w/loft & extra window)
Suite D - $525 (suite w/loft)
Utilities would be $80.00 per person
(2nd email):
Actually, we have three full four bedroom apartments available. The third
is an apartment with all standard suites on the first floor. I have
attached a floor plan for that apartment. As a group, the apartment would be
$1,836.00 for rent and $320.00 for utilities. As suites, each room would be
$469.00 for rent and $80.00 for utilities."
Let me know what you think Ubuntu, Hokiefan, and OldBlue (and Guy but I still don't believe you're gonna pass up buying). Note: "Utilities" includes everything except cable TV.

Re: UVA Class of 2011 Housing Thread
My gripe about them is there's only 1 bathroom for the 2 bedroom and I'm tired of sharing bathrooms. Getting 1 br would be more costly and lonely. I'd also rather be in a place that's only grad students since you never know what kind of weird neighbors you can end up with.ubuntu wrote:sorry to divert this thread back to housingbut does anyone know anything about the jeffersonian apartments on arlington? they seem really inexpensive and are really close to the law school... http://www.jeffersonianapartments.com/

Now that the GC people claim you can request to be in the same suite without buying a whole one, it's not a necessity to get 4 anymore but it'd still be nice to fill a whole suite.

Yup, I'm pretty pumped. The downsides include orange countertops and not-so-nice carpeting in some of the units, but otherwise, the place is cheap, has plenty of parking, and is the closest private apartment complex to the law school. And unlike Ivy, it allows pets.SgtBilko wrote:I think Wells already had his application to live there approved.ubuntu wrote:sorry to divert this thread back to housingbut does anyone know anything about the jeffersonian apartments on arlington? they seem really inexpensive and are really close to the law school... http://www.jeffersonianapartments.com/
They may not have any units left, but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

If you ever need to get away from those orange countertops you can come hang out in my hot tub.Wellsfargowagon wrote:Yup, I'm pretty pumped. To be honest, I don't remember the eighties. I was born in '86 (September, so near the end of 86) so I was only alive for about 3 years and 3 months in the eighties. It looks like I am going to be one the youngest people in my class again.cantwaitforuva wrote:Who doesn't miss the eighties?
