I think that's the plan. that's where I plan to be at 8. I noticed they have a live band playing there at 10 with $5 admission so hopefully getting there at 8 means we dont have to pay that.

Do they have outside seating?

Sorry, didn't make it either! When's the next time?

In other news, the food at Madeleine's in the Commons is pretty good. AMAZING desserts.
But with my loans I can now afford to eat there only once a year. I miss being employed.

UD: It's not easy to eat Korean food in the village, or in NYC generally.

Ones around village aren't that good, and they are terribly overpriced (like $15 bibimbop, onward). If you must choose one, I walked to a place on 8th street and 1st Ave. They had a decent food.

Ktown is expensive too, but the price is around the same as the ones in the village. So what I did was save up for a month or so and go treat myself to good korean food in Ktown instead of wasting money on the village "korean" food.

Joon, I found a store that stocks all things kimchi up at "Bishop's Small Mall" near triphammer mall. They told me to say hi to all the Kims in my class.

Wow, thanks, Kn! I needed that.

The name of the shop is so unkorean and thus so inconspicuous. I would have never known that the holy food exists at such place.

Oh and the class of 2011 has like 4-5 Kims, I think.
Hrm...

Well, I don't know enough about what goes into Korean food to know if it's really that great, but it seemed to be pretty comprehensive to me.

What's the bus that goes out there? I need to do some grocery shopping this weekend as it is, and I might as well get something that reminds me of my mom's (and to a lesser extent, my grandma's) excellent Korean food.

And Joon, $15 for bibimbop? Really??

i found a place in the village that has a decent one for $7...it's not a restaurant though, more of just a grocery store w/ a few premade meals

not nearly enough ko-chujang though. the white people probably complained there was too much

Best japanese food in ithaca: Plum tree/ Sushi Sake. The same owner but sushi/sake is a little more upscale. The other place that I can't remember the name of isn't as good and is friggin expensive.

Korean food: Coco is probably best overall. The food might be better at 4 seasons but many people find the smell/lack of cleanliness to be oppressive. Some people like Asian Cuisine downtown too.

Random best restaurants:

John Thomas: ridonculously good steak.....ridonculously expensive and a little far (near Ithaca College)

Just a taste: best food in ithaca overall.

Maxies: great cajun food.... nice seafood if you like oysters and shrimp.

Madelines: best desert.

Best Indian: Diamonds (downtown). The dinner menu at Sangham's is good but the buffet at Diamonds is better.

Best food on campus: Banfi's.

Best food on campus (affordable) = the terrace at the hotel.

Yeah, let's talk about whether the unconstitutionality of the vietnam war is a justiciable issue. That'll bring us all out of hiding. :?
