Year In Advance Planning - How to Fund Law School With Adverse Credit History?

Post by hcss11 » Mon Jul 18, 2016 5:06 pm

I'm posting this a year out so that by the time I matriculate, I'll be able to fund my studies.

The short of it:

a. Parents are broke, can't help me.

b. I have about $8k in debt (not including $50k undergrad loan debt) across various credit cards, and one semester of college housing I didn't pay for because at the time I was unsure why the school was giving me a $5k refund.

c. I know (or think I know) that FAFSA/DoE doesn't award aid if you have adverse credit history.
•My credit score is maybe low 500, high 400
•Adverse items include a) delinquencies and b) collections (not that many, but they are there).

d. There is also a mental illness issue involved that has contributed to my money management (or dearth thereof), if anyone wants to private message me about that.

Constructive and helpful comments welcome, all trolls and such can leave. Thanks in advance!
