Negotiate after getting off of a waitlist?

Post by Loney M. Setnick » Fri May 06, 2016 1:28 pm

I've put down a deposit at my dream school already and I'm currently on two waitlists at slightly higher ranked schools. If I were lucky enough to get off one of the waitlists, is it possible to use the new offer of admission to try and negotiate for scholarship money at my dream school? Has anyone done this before? I realize this scenario may never happen, but I was curious if anyone had success stories of trying to do this.

Doesn't hurt to try. The worst they can say is "no".
