Can anyone provide information on the amount of subsidized Stafford loans one can take out each year? I was getting mixed results when I searched this question online. I think the number is close to 8k, but I may be mistaken.
Thanks.

For law school? I didn't think subsidized loans were available.SirArthurDayne wrote:Can anyone provide information on the amount of subsidized Stafford loans one can take out each year? This article mentions subsidized Stafford loans. Also I found articles online that mentioned Stafford loans being available based on financial need.

That article was written in 2010, and the rules surrounding subsidized loans for grad and professional students have changed. In the notes section under the table: "Effective for periods of enrollment beginning on or after July 1, 2012, graduate and professional students are no longer eligible to receive Direct Subsidized Loans. The $65,500 subsidized aggregate loan limit for graduate or professional students includes subsidized loans that a graduate or professional student may have received for periods of enrollment that began before July 1, 2012, or for prior undergraduate study."
Only unsubsidized for us, it seems. Yay, capitalizing interest!
