Full Ride to Temple Law?
Hey, I'm hoping somebody could help me out here regarding what kind of stats I'd need to get a full scholarship from Temple Law. I live in Philly and will be graduating from a Philadelphia school this May summa cum laude (if I don't mess up a lot). My current cumulative GPA is 3.91. I have a lot of leadership positions, will have completed two internships by this fall (Juvenile Probation Office and Philadelphia District Attorney's Office), I'm employed at my university, and I'm an honors program student. Also, I'm Judicial Board Chairperson at my school.
My main question is, what sort of LSAT score would I need to receive a full ride to Temple Law? I'm interested in their trial advocacy program and do not have an interest in Big Law.

With your GPA, you have a shot at a full-ride at Penn. Why not shoot higher on the LSAT? Penn will open many more doors for you.Sera Numquam wrote:Hey, I'm hoping somebody could help me out here regarding what kind of stats I'd need to get a full scholarship from Temple Law. OP: An LSAT score in the low 160s might get you the full scholarship offer at Temple. Nevertheless, after taking the LSAT, you should apply to several law schools. If you score in the high 160s or better, than you should apply to several T-14 law schools. You do not need to practice biglaw--especially if you get a generous scholarship offer--you'll just get more interviews from a T-14 law school than from Temple. All law schools offer moot court & mock trial programs.

Thanks for the input! My LSAT score left points to be desired so I did sign up to retake it in October. I did self study, and right now I'm trying to do more practice tests, but I still can't afford to take a prep course. I definitely do plan on getting a higher score, and Penn would be great, but I would need to improve a lot to have a shot there regarding LSAT scores.chuckbass wrote:With your GPA, you have a shot at a full-ride at Penn. I was hoping for a high 160 score, but didn't hit my goal so I've registered to retake the exam and I'm hoping to hit the mark this time so I can have a shot at T14 schoolsCanadianWolf wrote:OP: An LSAT score in the low 160s might get you the full scholarship offer at Temple. Even if you have absolutely zero interest in big-law, you should be aiming for a 170 to get a full ride at a t-14. Hell, a 3.9 and a 173 puts you in the running for a full ride at Upenn, let alone temple.

I'm just not certain I could break 170. I have prep books and prep tests, but haven't had luck getting over that hump.gnomgnomuch wrote:Even if you have absolutely zero interest in big-law, you should be aiming for a 170 to get a full ride at a t-14. Well, make the LSAT a full time job if you can. But, even getting a 165 puts you in the running for serious money at schools like WUSTL, and you'd prob get something from the t-14.

When my internship at the District Attorney's Office ends I'll be back in classes and working. I'm studying now, and I will be during the semester too. What do you think would be the best approach at a score increase right now? I was thinking of focusing on doing a lot of prep tests and focusing on drilling question types that I have difficulty with getting correct.gnomgnomuch wrote:Sera Numquam wrote:I'm just not certain I could break 170.
