Re: Any Significant Non-School-Specific Scholarships?
So, I'm interested and was going through the UVA list of external scholarships.
I'm noticing a lot of $1,000, 1-3 page essay scholarships from various law firms around the country. But almost all of the ones I'm talking about have the same opening statement, which is roughly:

http://www.dgglaw.com/scholarship-application/
http://fischervanthiellaw.com/scholarship-application/
What's up with that? Are they legit? Are they at all connected? Can I send the same essay to all of them?

It seems the ability to hide behind anonymity encourages you to disrespect others. From the limited facts you know about me, you've already deemed it appropriate to make vast assumptions about my life and character. I'm not going to be rude back to you, but you don't know much about me, so please stop assuming things. If you can help it, please refrain from being so mean to people.JohannDeMann wrote:Paul Campos wrote:There's the Rich Person Who Wants To Go To Harvard Law School For Free Even Though He Has a Full Ride to Columbia scholarship, which is sponsored by the Koch brothers and the Daughters of the American Revolution (Cambridge MA branch).![]()

I don't know about those specific ones, but some firm scholarships require that you dedicate a summer internship or associate position to them. The ones for 2Ls and 3Ls may sometimes require accepting a full-time job offer from the firm. It's just something to be wary of.ub3r wrote:So, I'm interested and was going through the UVA list of external scholarships.
