In Florida, FSU and UF basically don't give out full rides. I would call this pretty stingy. I had considered UF to be near family and they only offered 50% tuition. For reference, I was given full rides to three schools 20+ ranks higher.

In my experience, Alabama and Cornell are quite generous, while GULC is less so.

Realize this changes year by year based on available funds. Last year wustl made it rain, this year they're being stingy.

This is true, it varies.Clearly wrote:Realize this changes year by year based on available funds. Last year wustl made it rain, this year they're being stingy.
However, I wouldn't be so quick to call WUSTL stingy this cycle. There's been a wave of scholly bumps recently and a good amount of full tuition offers so far. And last year the game-changer downpour of $$$ happened in June, so it's too early to say for sure what to classify this year as. Rumor has it that last year was an exceptionally generous year, but this year could still pull through for many applicants.

I had pretty average numbers for WUSTL and started off with a 75% offer. They gave me an unsolicited bump to 90%. Do we know of anyone even being given a sticker offer?Clearly wrote:Realize this changes year by year based on available funds. Last year wustl made it rain, this year they're being stingy.

Penn State and Illinois both made it rain for me with pretty average numbers. I feel like the B1G schools are generous as F*** while the SEC schools tend to be on the stingy side. Dat northern money.

Re: Most Generous vs. Most Stingy Scholarship Offers
I'm gonna say that generally speaking the higher the rank, the more generous the school, and the lower the rank, the stingier
But the other question is, what's more generous: offering big scholarships to few applicants, or offering small scholarships to lots of applicants?

Houston is so F'ing stingy.
Vanderbilt is generous although you have to be with tuition like that for a non-T14.

WUSL offered me a full tuition scholarship. I know others that have been offered the same.SFrost wrote: I had pretty average numbers for WUSTL and started off with a 75% offer. They gave me an unsolicited bump to 90%. Do we know of anyone even being given a sticker offer?
