Schools bluffing on aid negotiation Forum

I was just curious to hear opinions on how law schools operate. I was turned down for both stipulation removal and aid increase by a TTT in which I was above both of their 75ths and I find it hard to imagine that they are having an easy time filling out their class. Perhaps I have just worked in furniture sales for too long, but I get the feeling that some of these schools are bluffing and waiting to see if I will withdraw. Anybody have any experience with that? Or is that just not how law schools (of any rank or repute) do things?

Could be yield protect, or they could just be stingy. For example, Pitt and Michigan State gave me very bad offers, even though I was way overqualified.

Isn't the idea of yield protect that they want the people they accepted to go there?

They may not want to make a huge offer to someone who has a very low chance of attending, thus locking up money away from a strong candidate who will actually attend.
