EFC?

Post by mylifeis24 » Thu Feb 06, 2014 9:02 am

My EFC on the FAFSA is listed as 001250. Is this $1,250? Or am I missing something?

Yes, it means your EFC is $1,250. That's typically low enough to qualify for need-based aid, if your school offers any to graduate students.

My EFC came out to 0. The thing I don't get is that on the FAFSA I qualify as an independent student so I'm assuming its not taking into account my parents income (even though I entered it). Is this correct? In this case, wouldn't this number basically not matter for law schools since they ARE going to take into account my parents income?
