"how much are your parents contributing"
some schools ask how much your parents are contributing to paying to law school. i don't know the answer yet. would it be better to put an estimate to the greater side or to the other side? I feel like if I overestimate, they'll give less merit aid because they'll think I won't need it, but if I underestimate then they'll maybe reject me, because they can only give so much aid to so many people. opinions?

You can take out loans up to the cost of attendance (provided you qualify).. I doubt the school would reject you for not having parents who can contribute.
Of course, when it comes down to it, you may not want to have to take out loans and the like. But that doesn't seem to be your question.

No one gets rejected on the basis of family finances.
Why would you be submitting FAFSA/NeedAccess prior to your law school decisions anyway?
