A few questions for TLS:

1. I've read the negotiating merit aid article on here but I am wondering if it's plausible to anticipate an 80%-100% scholly if my gpa is way above the 75th percentile and my lsat score is above median but below 75th percentile. Will it depend how early in the process I apply when funding is more readily available at a school with an over 64 million dollar endowment (school wide)? Should I apply to inferior institutions that I don't plan enrolling at to use as a bargain chip?

2 . Debt. How much is considered a bargain considering the starting salaries for attorneys in my market are $50k-$70k in my region. Should I consider going to the local TTTT if I can live at home and have a realistic shot at keeping my debt under $40k? Or, should I just go to a higher tier school at sticker and graduate with close to $100k in debt? There's probably no way I'm getting into a t14. I probably have a shot at a tier one though...

3 . There is no way I can retake the lsat this cycle as I will be out of the country from October to March and I really hate the idea of waiting yet another cycle.

From the schools it sounds like you're wanting to apply to, you should try to keep your debt at close to $0 as humanly possible as a well paying JD required job is not even more likely than not to be in the cards for you upon graduation...

It will help a lot if you give your numbers (LSAT/GPA) and which schools specifically you are looking at?

Cancel your LSAT right now if you only anticipate a 155-160 with that GPA. If you put in the time and study you can improve to at least a 165, which will open up all kinds of other doors. I thought you meant that you couldn't get into a T14 because you had a 1.5 GPA or something like that. The LSAT should never be the determining factor of whether or not you can go to a decent law school.

Yea I'm really thinking about just taking it again in October.. I still want to take in June though. I have an absence on my record from last June. Will that hurt my ability to take again in Dec/Feb if need be?

I had an absence (not a cancellation) and got into several of the T14 (up to a T6); I don't think it affected my cycle whatsoever.

Nice. I think I'll study rather pedestrian the 3 weeks between test day and score day (perhaps one pt per week). If I am not satisfied with my score I'll pick it back up go with October.
