FAFSA/Need and Parent info -- Why do some schools want it...

and others don't?

And does it positively/negatively affect anything having my parents on there for the FAFSA/Need Access if the school doesn't care for it? I'm just curious. They're not secretly rich or anything, I'm just lazy and stressed for time at this point.
