UVA merit aid

Has anyone tried negotiating for more aid from UVA (more than the amount given at the time of acceptance) with a larger (almost full-ride) offer from a lower T14 school? Any advice or your experience would be appreciated! PM if you'd prefer not to post. Thanks.

It doesn't hurt to try now, but you will usually have to wait till after the first deposit deadline to negotiate with them.

Anyone contacted them and heard back? I get the sense that they are only making decisions after the first deposit deadline, but anybody hear back sooner?
