My Friend, the FAFSA IRS Data Retrieval Tool Forum

At least one law school requires the use of the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. Supposedly, the Tool is available to pre-populate FAFSA questions 2-3 weeks after the electronic submission of taxes. I submitted my taxes 7 weeks ago and the IRS Tool still will not function. The FAFSA folks have been unhelpful. (They gave me the general IRS website as a lead.)

I would appreciate tips from anyone who has waged a successful battle with the IRS Data Tool.

My retrieval worked about 72 hours after I e-filed.
Did you e-file?

I did efile. Which is why I am hesitant to wait -- seems like something is amiss that needs fixing, but I am not sure what exactly or who can help...

FAFSA takes like 10 minutes, filling it out from scratch. You could have finished it by now.

This reminds me that I should update mine with my new tax info. What school is make you use the data retrieval tool? I say fuck them, withdraw immediately.
