Negotiate with Superior School Acceptance?

Post by phillyboy101 » Wed Jan 25, 2012 3:11 am

I was just wondering if anyones had any luck negotiating scholarship money from a lesser ranked school with merely an acceptance from a superior school (higher ranked/no money). I've read alot about leveraging X's scholarship against Y's scholarship, but nothing really about A's acceptance against B's scholarship offer (if any).

i saw that that's what sparked my interest in the idea. I just was wondering if anyone had experience with this working. Is it as simple as: "Dear t30, I appreciate you're acceptance, but I have also been accepted to t14. If I am given money/more money, then I will consider you" Curious if this has worked for anyone. It just doesn't to me seem nearly that it would be nearly as effectve as leveraging scholarships from peer schools.
