numbers needed for merit scholarships at t14?

Post by thebigspoon » Thu Apr 07, 2011 2:26 pm

I'm applying next cycle and my stats are probably good enough to get considered for 4-10 of the T14. I'm not going to qualify for need based aid so I'm wondering if anyone has a good idea what lsat is needed to get a good amount of aid. My gpa is pretty much locked at a 3.84ish. Also, does anyone think it'd be worth it to retake the lsat in the hopes of boosting my chances for a scholarship? Thanks

I'm getting $ from lower t14's and my lsat is a bit lower than yours and my gpa is only slightly higher

Look at scholarships reported on LSN to get a solid idea of the ranges for each school--they vary substantially in t14.

With a 174 LSAT & a 3.84 GPA, you are in a great position to get merit money since you are above both medians at almost all Top 14 law schools.

P.S. Your profile shows a higher LSDAS GPA (3.9) than your actual 3.8+ GPA at your university. The LSDAS GPA counts for law school admission purposes, therefore you are in a great position with respect to numbers for merit scholarship consideration.

Yeah you have nothing to worry about. You're in a good position to even get a full ride at some of the T14 - Levy at Penn, Darrow at Mich, or full-ride Deans at UVA.

I got a 174 on my second LSAT, and my GPA is nearly exactly yours (it went up a bit after fall semester from what you see on LSN), and my cycle is going and will likely conclude like this:
