UNC scholly likelihood (167/4.0)

Post by RxBandit26 » Wed Mar 16, 2011 3:48 pm

So I have a 167 and a 4.0, and I applied right at the deadline. Any idea how competitive I would be for a large (half- to full-tuition) scholarship? LSN is no help: hardly anyone reports anything at all there, but from what I've read in other forums it sounds like the information is incomplete and it isn't the case that they just don't give anything out to anybody.

You would have been very competitive for the Chancellor's Scholarship, unfortunately you would have had to apply by Dec 31st to be eligible.

They technically say that you are considered for merit aid if you apply by the March 1st deadline. I must say that a lot of schools say this, but run out of scholarship money by then.

If you are dead set on attending UNC i'm sure you could get a good scholarship if you talk to admissions and convey your level of seriousness.

You missed the Chancellor Scholarship deadline, so you won't get more than half. They exhausted all that money, however if you decide to wait a cycle and apply next year you will be very competitive for the Chancellor Scholarship. My numbers are lower than yours and I was a finalist, and received 75% tuition. I am hispanic though.
