File now. Need based schools will most likely not give you aid until you give them their required documents, including the need access form.

Based on what you've said, filing your own taxes will probably be really easy and you should be able to get them done in one sitting. Or if this is impossible, give them 2009's taxes or your best estimate, with the promise to update them when you finish filing taxes for 2010.


That said, they may want a copy of your parents taxes too, so I would get that in order.

1) What if you haven't filed taxes because you haven't made enough money to require reporting ($5700 for dependents?

You could probably complete a 1040EZ in less time than it took to start this thread.
