On what date is my credit checked for GradPlus loans? Forum

I found 2 small accounts on my credit report which I promptly paid off. I was told it could take 30 or 60 or 90 days for them to be reported as closed. Anyone know when my credit will actually be checked for the GradPlus loans?

you can probably appeal either way. why don't you contact each credit bureau and fax a document showing they are paid. can't slow the process any.

For GradPlus they only care that there are no payments 90+ days overdue or missed payments on previous student loans. They don't use a debt to income ratio so this shouldn't hurt you unless they are 90 days late, at which point them showing paid won't help anyhow.

with the new online student loan site, your credit is checked as soon as you submit the gradPlus application. You should get either an instant approval or a response explaining the next steps necessary if not.
