OOS full tuition scholarship question Forum

I have recieved scholarships to unc and bama for 30k per year and 27k per year respectively. If I gain residency after the first year will I essentially get a 10-15k stipend or will the school lower my scholarship amount to the in-state tuition amount?

You should call them, but most of my scholarship stipulations say that the award can not exceed the amount of tuition.

Yeah, I kinda doubt they will just cut me a check for 15 grand for attending their school. But I don't know if the thing about not exceeding the full amount is true in my case because the unc offer was for 30,600 per year and right now tuition is 29,xxx. So, it seems like I would at least get like $1,000 back my first year...
