Florida Coastal vs. Ave Maria
I applied to a series of schools in late January, and these are the only schools I've heard back from. Any help in making a preliminary decision is helpful... I have researched both schools but I'd like some outside opinions

Re: Florida Coastal vs. Ave Maria
Coastal offered me $5000, and my parents live in the area, so I wouldn't have to shel out for housing.
Ave Maria has yet to offer me anything...
I'm interested in becoming a criminal prosecutor, and possibly working for the government or going JAG
I have my sights set on CUNY or Hofstra, with long shots at FSU and Alabama, and a huge huge reach at Notre Dame, but I haven't heard from any of them, and it is getting close to some schools seating deposits are due

The best advice I can give to you is to not go to either at anywhere near sticker, because it is a phenomenal waste off money. Job prospects from both are going to be absolutely atrocious. If you can't get a legal job from either (distinct possibility), at least you will have minimal debt. The FL law market is terrible right now.

Credited, as always.wiggsb wrote:I know you don't want to hear this but you have to re-take the LSAT. Your GPA isn't half bad and with a score between 157-163 you'd be golden at a lot of great places (FSU and UF included).

If you're WL at FSU or Bama, ride it out to the bitter end.

Re: Florida Coastal vs. Ave Maria
Thanks for the replies. I am hoping to be accepted to a better school. I still have a lot of apps out there and Mercer has just made a decision and its in the mail.
I do not plan to retake the LSAT. If these are the only schools I get into, I will have soem decision to make. Fortuantley, I am not DEAD SET on attending law school, and am considering a military career. Whatever the case, I have options.
I worked at a local DA's office and met plenty of FCSL alumni fresh out of school, working side-by-side with graduates from Cornell, Duke, and FSU, but I've never seen a Ave Maria alumni.
Thanks again for the insight
