Big $ differences between peer schools
I was just wondering if its common for peer schools to offer vastly different amounts of money. In my case, basing this on two initial offers from school (no negotiations made), one school offered me twice what the other was offering. Does race or gender play a role in this sort of situation?

Sometimes, because you may be the exact demographic that one school is looking for.
