Hi,
How does Financial Aid work with a deferral? In general, will I have to re-apply for aid next year? Or will I necessarily stick with the same package?
If it makes a difference, I am considering accepting and deferring at HYS, and next year I will be one year older / one year further from parental tax dependency, so I think I would get a better aid offer (although, obviously, that is not why I want to defer).
Thanks very much for your advice...

Re: Deferral and aid
i believe you have to reapply to financial aid every year, even if you're a student. so it only makes sense that if you defer, you would have to reapply to financial aid. another reason is the financial condition of the school is different each year, surely they would not use the same package they offered you in a good year again in a bad year...

Re: Deferral and aid
You have to apply for aid each year. If you defer your acceptance, you're not guaranteed to get the same financial aid package, although it should be similar for HYS, which only offers need-based aid.
