Can a 529 hurt financial aid?

Can a 529 direct plan under the control of a parent (but with both the parent's name and the student's name on the account) hurt financial aid opportunities for a student entering law school? Essentially, should my parents keep contributing to the 529, or will a higher amount in this account hurt my chances for federal and school-based aid? Thank you in advance to those who comment.
