Competition for PI jobs has increased substantially, but I think that's more due to the number of BigLaw jobs shrinking and the number of law students remaining constant. I think once the economy evens out, you'll still see people choosing BigLaw. They'll have to use more of their own money to pay off their loans, but once they're done they'll have significantly higher salaries than PI folks, just like it's always been. I don't see this changing things too drastically.
