Re: CLEO 2010
hey!
the locations will likely not be available until next year (maybe even after some have been accepted into the program). If you have any questions about the program pm me. I did the 6-week institute last year.

I attended the six week CLEO summer institute this past summer. To answer your question regarding the MSSIs.....you can only select up to 8 MSSIs. You're welcome to apply to more schools but you can only submit to no more than 8 schools.
My recommendation in selecting the 8 schools is to select CLEO Members schools. From what I understand, these schools have a direct relationship with CLEO and some of these institutions have actually hosted past CLEO events in the past. You may also select either support or substaining schools as well.
Hope this helps!

From my experience, they usually won't announce the sites until February.2013esq wrote:I submitted my application for the 6-week summer institute and they sent me a letter saying the location will be posted sometime in December.

No problem. Best wishes to you on a successful admission cycle! BTW, don't get too discourage if you don't hear from CLEO right away or if you hear of others getting accepted but you're still waiting.

Hey everyone,
Does anybody know when CLEO will start sending out acceptance letters for the early decision?

Based on what happened last year, they didn't start releasing acceptance letters until mid to late January.Kiory wrote:Hey everyone,

The sites have finally been released... Miami, FL and Columbia, MO. How great would it be to be able to go to CLEO and live in Miami for 6 weeks?

I just saw that the sites were released. Miami would be sick. My app should be getting in any moment now too. Good luck to everyone and hope to see you at one of the summer insititutes. (Preferably Miami) I am going if I get in either way.

Good luck to everyone! I called today and was told that the decisions for the first cycle will be released soon. The woman on the phone did not give an approximate timing, but ensured me that Ms. Williams should be calling me. I asked if a call is a Yes or No. She said she can not release that information. Has anyone else tried?

I also applied for Early Admit status...Trelawny wrote:Good luck to everyone! I called today and was told that the decisions for the first cycle will be released soon. I tried calling as well and got a dude instead [whitney]. he actually attended the first school i got admitted into (WCL!). but he told me the same thing and that decisions should be out by mid-January...and that they take 80 people in general, give or take.
as for your "ensured" phone call from Ms. Williams...i'm not 100% sure but it looks like an admit since she either e-mails or calls people who've been admitted (or, at least, has questions regarding your app.)
but for now, let's just focus on the app. cycle and our acceptances...

hell yeah! shoot in an app. ASAP! CLEO is known for being competitive as all hell! they only take 80 or so kids in total for 2 sections. i think hundreds of people apply so the sooner, the better!
hope that helps your decision-making!

Re: CLEO 2010
Yeah as for the "ensured" phone call. Once it happens I will believe it. I just hope I get accepted. The benefits of the program will truly help me. Plus I will be in Miami for Memorial day weekend. Miami is much of an convenience; then MO. I will be traveling from NY and saw it will take me 9hrs to get to MO- so that's not an option.ATOIsp07 wrote:I also applied for Early Admit status...Trelawny wrote:Good luck to everyone! Thanks! I wasnt sure how competitive it was, honestly I would probably do this over the SEO program. Anyway, Im definitely gonna get my app in this week.ATOIsp07 wrote:IDILL_E wrote:I havent applied yet, is it too late? I was probably going to send my app in this week.

How do they choose which location you are placed? Proximity?

The thing I don't get is that if we are disadvantage why is it that they just don't make the program free. Yeah. scholarships is always a catch to any program.ATOIsp07 wrote:yea, i feel the same about how much of a benefit the program will be. i'm actually trying to save up as much money as possible for the program. it's expensive but i know that we're considered for scholarships, yada yada..
