Anyone else reading the 2016 and 2015 SEO threads like a crazy person?
Also, how much research did you all do before interviews? I was going to go overboard because it's my style.

I did because I had a ton of free time at work. But for me the interview was literally all basic interview questions only thing SEO specific was which firms did I want to work at. So most of my preparation was wasted because they were basic interview questions.renc56 wrote:Anyone else reading the 2016 and 2015 SEO threads like a crazy person?

Same. Also the last was easy for me because my top two cities only have two partner firms each lolus3rnam3 wrote:I did because I had a ton of free time at work. I'm in the same boat. There are only two partner firms and they both have industries I'm interested in which is unsurprising because they are huge firms. I was looking at the profiles of the POC who were partners and seeing who did what.poptart123 wrote:Same. Has anyone else not been invited to interview yet? Are my chances diminishing?

I doubt it, especially if you applied closer to the 3/15 deadline (since it takes them roughly 2 weeks to get back to you). If you finished your application in January or February, then I'd reach out to see what's going on.lula43 wrote:Has anyone else not been invited to interview yet? Are my chances diminishing?

Mine is this upcoming Friday! But from past comments/reading past years' threads, it seems to be like a typical interview and requires basic knowledge of what firm you'd want to work at and why.lula43 wrote:Thanks! Does anyone know when we're supposed to hear back by? Interviewed all the way back in January after my first t14 acceptance. I'm about to deposit next week and want to know if & when I should quit my full time job haha

Around late April. But someone who deposited recently said they got accepted already, so they might be using an earlier decision system based on deposit datelilitiger99 wrote:Does anyone know when we're supposed to hear back by? Thanks. Is this rolling? Earlier deposit - better chances? And does anyone know what happens if we get off the waitlist and change our pref school? Re: 2016-2017 SEO Corporate Law Applicants (Summer 2017)
Doubt that earlier deposit = much better chance. I'm sure they have a batch of students that they know they'll very likely admit, and are just waiting for deposits to sort everything out. If you get off a WL and switch schools during summer, while you're working at a firm, then (I assume) nothing changeslilitiger99 wrote:Thanks. Is this rolling? Earlier deposit - better chances? Re: 2016-2017 SEO Corporate Law Applicants (Summer 2017)
That's true, actually. I did ask a former SEO intern who basically said URM + good interview + T14 + USC/UCLA/strongregional = accepted. I wonder how much of that is true.hammy393 wrote:Doubt that earlier deposit = much better chance. Anyone care to share how long these interviews normally run for or what questions I should expect? I have my interview tomorrow at 4.

Any idea about whether you are less likely to be placed at a firm you were a paralegal in?

My understanding is that the firm chooses you, not that you are assigned a firm, so I imagine it makes you more appealing to that firm.SMSWavelength wrote:Any idea about whether you are less likely to be placed at a firm you were a paralegal in?

From past threads, roughly 20-30 minutes and it seems to be like an average interview.HarvardHopeful95 wrote:Anyone care to share how long these interviews normally run for or what questions I should expect? I have my interview tomorrow at 4.

I got one as well. I think for any job opportunity a follow up interview would be seen as a good sign.Harry Ass Truman wrote:I got it also What does this mean?
