What are my chances 3.8/159?
Debtaing on whether to retake the LSAT in December but am unsure if even a 2 point difference will yield a different net result for my top schools: USC, UCLA, Berkeley.
I am a Latina with 3.8/159 stats.

You should re-take don't let your 3.8 GPA go to waste. You could probably get into the 162-165 range!

Out at UCLA, probably in at the rest.
But re-take. For the love. Cannot stress that enough. Even if you want only these three schools, it'll get you more money.

Before I join the retake train let me ask this: Was 159 on the high or low end of your practice test range? As someone who started at the very low end of testing ability (149) and got into the mid-160s, I'm certain that you can do better. As the previous poster noted, the benefit to the scholarship money you'll be able to access with a higher score is worth a retake.

It sucks, but I was able to increase over twenty points from my first practice test. Your GPA is gold and you are already scoring high. A few points higher and you will begin to have the opportunities you want right now.

Retake! Rework your logical reasoning knowledge by training qestion types and arguments, get your games down on point (do a bunch to ensure lowest possible point loss), and get RC down to the minimum that you can. Your so close-- literally 5-7 more questions right spread across a couple sections on the test and you'll be golden.circa wrote:Debtaing on whether to retake the LSAT in December but am unsure if even a 2 point difference will yield a different net result for my top schools: USC, UCLA, Berkeley.

I was scoring consistent 161 on PR, highest ever was a 162. Took testmasters course for 3 months then self studied for another 3. Thats why I am unsure if a 2/3 point increase would be more beneficial than getting my apps in earlier.Go Nats! wrote:Before I join the retake train let me ask this: Was 159 on the high or low end of your practice test range? Any tips on how to make the most of 5 more weeks of LSAT studying?!?!

Jumping in here, but you definitely could improve your score in 5 five weeks! How many fresh PTs do you have left? I'd say just take one PT a week and do a full BR of that test, and then after that review every question you missed before BR, and every question you missed after BR. Then I'd say the rest of the week spend doing one section a day w/BR. So you'll end up doing two PTs a week, one broken up and one in a single-sitting. The most important thing right now is to review, review, review.circa wrote:I was scoring consistent 161 on PR, highest ever was a 162. Use trackers online to see what question types you're missing, if there is a pattern by type (NA, SA, MP, etc.) then either read advice from the LSAT trainer or Powerscore on how to tackle that particular type.
General advice:
Try to get LG down to -0
Don't get caught on super difficult questions, skip if you need to
Also predict answers, that's going to be the biggest skill you want to develop, good luck!
