AA male 3.6 GPA

Post by nikolai315 » Fri Mar 11, 2016 10:42 am

I am currently finishing up sophomore year in college. I have a 3.6 GPA, and I already know that I want to pursue a law degree. As a URM, what is the minimum LSAT I must get to receive admission to George Washington, Georgetown?

I personally wouldn't look at it as "what is the minimum I can score" and just do everything you can to score as high as possible. As a URM with a 3.6, if you can trend your grades up even a little bit and break 170 with your LSAT, I'd wager to bet you could get in just about anywhere. You probably need to be in the 160s though to solidify your chances to the schools you are mentioning. My point is, aim high! You're in a great spot with lots of time.

I agree with the above poster. The first time I took the LSAT I was focused on getting the minimum score and it really stunted my studying. Once I got the minimum score I didn't study as hard and realized after I couldve done so much better with additional studying and focus. So the next time I took the LSAT I had a score increase of 6 points. But you have a lot of time. Focus now on getting good grades and keeping that GPA high. But I guess to answer your questions a minimum would probsbly be high 160s.

Good luck!

look around this the URM forums. Lots of great info here.

In my opinion, with a 3.6 and a 165 youd have an opportunity for a really nice money offer at GW.

Some others can comment on GULC and the likelihood of $$. I had a friend with a similar GPA and a 167 get a full ride from GW.

Theres a lot of guys that will probably chime in with some opinions on where all you should apply and what score youd need. I think if you can get to 169ish, you could get a lot of love from t14. If DC is where your heart is, I think youd be in good shape in the 160s.

EDIT: Iam3hunna has killed it this cycle with his 164/sub 3.7.. He might be a good person to talk with! :)
