Hello,

Being competitive, I want to increase my chances of getting into all of the T14 minus Y and S.

My question is how does Berk treat non-MA or PR Hispanics ( my question before anyone goes farther is not if I am a URM or not, but rather can I expect to see any type of boost)?.... would they be more willing to give a boost to a non MA or PR Hispanic since they have one of the most diverse student populations? Here they give the breakdown

Berk's 509 ( and all others) lump all Hispanics together, so I don't see why schools wouldn't have an interest in giving some boost to other Hispanics despite not being URM because it would create a more diverse profile....... Or am I wrong about all this and (if any) boost that I would get would mainly be to schools that have less diverse profiles either overall or less of a Hispanic proportion compared to other T14 schools?

The main reason I'm wondering is because I saw the admissions index on LSAC where each school has their own specific index and you punch in your numbers into the formula......I am thinking about extending graduation ( but with a part time load so that I have more time to work, currently unemployed but searching for at least a part time job)......Based off the admissions index the only way I could outperform and get a higher index score than a 3.7/170 with my current 3.65 is scoring a 172 on the LSAT......While I am competitive as indicated, I'm not sure how feasible a 172 is ( because at the very high levels of LSAT scorers, hard work is not enough to achieve a high score, .... I think a 170 is within the realm of possibilities but not a 172)

Race based affirmative action in California State public schools isn't allowed. So to answer your question, you won't. However, if you come a low socioeconomic background, you'll get a large boost.
