For A Friend AA Male 3.25 gpa 160 and 161 lsat

Post by mynameismyname » Sun Aug 23, 2015 12:11 pm

One of my friends wants to know what schools he should be applying to in the next few weeks. He wants to know what schools are likely to give him a full ride and whats the best school(s) he can get into. I told him I think he could get into Penn, Michigan, UVA, and Cornell. I think he could get a full ride to WUSTL and some peer schools. Am I wrong or right?

I think your friend needs to retake his terrible LSAT if he wants to have a chance. I also think I might have just fallen for some low quality bait.

I think you may have missed the AA part. Id say Penn is extremely unlikely, UVA is also unlikely, and getting one or two of Michigan, NW, gtown, and Cornell is pretty reasonable.

Penn Mich UVA cornell are out or maybe waitlists with those numbers, he needs to re-take the LSAT

Probably in at WUSTL though but definitely not with a full-ride

I know AA gives a boost, but 3.25 and 161 are still significantly below every T-14's medians. He needs to use his 3rd retake if he wants to get into a good school with a scholarship

I know one black guy who got into Columbia with a 162 and a 3.4 gpa (negligible financial aid though). Not a troll but I think my friend will get 1 of the top 6 schools and maybe a full ride at a top 20 school.

URM admissions are very hard to predict. your friends best bet is to get that LSAT up pronto

Just an update... The full ride (really just tuition) to the top 20 happened for my friend. Will update if he gets into a top 6.

The kid was completely shut out of top-6 and most of top 14... Either accepted or rejected. No waitlists...
