Welcome TLS URMs and interested non-URMs!
This is a great place to come to post your cycle results, ask questions, and generally get support on the issues that law school applicants face from a URM perspective.
First, please introduce yourself by adding your stats/info to the URM cycle spreadsheet:

Good Luck!

Checking in! I've been waiting for this thread

I'll also start with a little info about myself....graduated from a top tier ug a couple of years ago and decided to apply to law school last cycle at the last minute with zero LSAT prep. I peaked at CCN with little $ and decided to sit out and retake the test. I scored higher in June, so I'm feeling much better about my chances. I benefited greatly from the URM community last cycle and am always more than happy to pass on any advice I can.
Don't make my mistake! Start studying for the LSAT early

This will be my second cycle as well. Had some t14 $$$ offers last year, but family issues made attending impossible. No real changes in my application from last cycle, so I'm just hoping to pick up where I left off. Last cycle, I applied relatively late, so hopefully an early app will give me some luck! Really hoping to land at one of H, P, B, V

Woohoo! I've been waiting for this to pop up! I also applied last cycle but the results weren't great so I'm retaking in October and reapplying - I know I'll have good company on this thread to go through the stews of law school apps again *sigh*

all posters ITT should feel free to send me essay drafts (for now at least). I am not really too busy and reviewing writing sounds more entertaining than engaging with the more tenured inside groups that dominate the lounge. My criticism will likely be direct but hopefully not too harsh. PMs are easiest.

Really hoping for Harvard too. I'm still on their waitlist for this year but I don't believe it's going to happen at this point
BUT...I am SO determined to try again and apply much earlier this time. Fingers crossed

Hey everyone! AA from last year's cycle. I won't be checking this thread very often, but feel free to PM about any questions you have on the process. So happy to help and provide advice, encouragement, etc.
Good luck everyone! Hope to see many of you at my school next year!

Checking in. AA male K-JD here sitting again in October. Would it be a better to submit my apps early and then send in my updated October score when it comes?

from what I've heard, adcomms don't start really considering apps til mid-november, prior to that a lot of em are at conferences and shit and college fairs, stuff like that. Sure there is no disadvantage to applying early but applying with an October score won't put you at a dis-advantage. An december score wouldn't be too bad either. I'm in a similar boat I took it this past feb and did pretty good, but I'm waiting on my October re-take before sending out apps.

I second that! October scores should be out by the end of October so if you make sure all your app material is ready to go on the day you get your score back then it will still be considered a very early application. That's what I'm hoping to do

I got a 167 in Feb. which to me at least is pretty good but I didn't want to apply anywhere late and figured on re-taking in June, but still wasn't satisfied with my PT scores leading up to June. My gpa sucks (3.1) so I'm hoping for a 170+ in October hoping for some T14 dinero.

Hey! Just checking in!
I'm an AA female and this will be my first cycle. I'm supposed to graduate May 2016 but I'll be done with my classes this December, so I think I'll just leave. My first (and hopefully only) LSAT will be the October one. I'm hoping for CCN or a t14 in general.

Why are you rushing to be KJD? I took the LSAT at the end of UG and it was awful. One year off can be fun and you would have room for 3 takes to be in the Class of 2020 cycle.

I wouldn't say I was rushing. I just don't see a reason to take a year and a half off "just because." Technically I'll have 8 months between UG and law school if I get in this cycle anyway.
