AA, studying abroad, Creative Personal Statements Ideas?
I am studying abroad in the French Alps this summer; and , I would really like to use my experience to form the bases of my personal statement for law school. Any ideas on what I could write about?

I am studying French. But I plan on traveling around Europe on weekends. And a little after the program has ended.

Write your personal statement in fluent French. Then say "After just a few months in France, I am already fluent in French. By this logic, after just a few months in law school, I will be completely fluent in legalese." Then throw in an "America, fuck yeah!"

I'd say this is a tough one for us to help you with because you know far better than we do what this trip and experience mean to you. If you can connect extended time in Europe to a desire to pursue a US Law degree presumably to practice law here, that will be most impressive!
Also, maybe your experience itself will guide your hand...who knows who or what you'll encounter that will inspire you.

I lived overseas for 2 years. I suggest paying attention to the socioecon climate of both the locals and the overall country. Wait to see what inspires you--something should; that's the point of living abroad. You will innately begin to draw some comparative analysis.AlexandraHope wrote:I am studying French.
