Too Late to Apply?
Hello, everyone.
Quick question: Is it too late to apply to schools this late in the admissions cycle?
I really want to get a good shot at some t-50 schools, but I'm not sure if I have waited too long to knock myself out of a good chance.
URM: AA/male
3.47 GPA
avg. PT score (15-20 PTs): 151
Awaiting Dec. LSAT score (most likely 155+ range)
Also, I'm currently awaiting one LOR which plays a factor in my delay.
Thanks for your comments in advance!

Re: Too Late to Apply?
It's definitely not too late if you already have your other items together or can get them done quickly (essays and LORs).

Re: Too Late to Apply?
Lots of evidence is telling us that applying in January is not going to be the disadvantage it was in the past. If just T50 is your goal, which I hope you're doing with full knowledge of the risks your taking (of not even becoming a lawyer at some of these schools), then with your PT score or the 155, you should be able to snag a few acceptances.
At 155, you'll have an outside shot at some school in the T14. Cornell and Duke have taken applicants with the 3.4x/155 profile previously.
Get your username and the calculus changes dramatically in your favor.
Good luck!

From mysln, (150-155, 3.3-3.5, Jan-Jan) there are literally 0 acceptances T50..
Didn't see URM, T50 here you come!

I don't mean to sound like a TLS stooge but a "t50" doesn't mean squat. Get yourself a 165+, man.

Agreed. You could definitely still apply this year, but doing so with that score would be a big disservice to yourself. Your best option is to sit this cycle out, study hard, and retake.pancakes3 wrote:I don't mean to sound like a TLS stooge but a "t50" doesn't mean squat. Get yourself a 165+, man.

Re: Too Late to Apply?
WL'd from Duke last year with a similar GPA and an LSAT 10+ points higher. I think LSAT scores are slowly trickling back up...I don't see any shot whatsoever at the T14 this cycle (minus maybe Georgetown...even then, probably not) with a 155. All of my other AA male friends last year with 3.7+ and 154-158 (3 people total...granted, not a huge sample size) were shut out of the T14 entirely.cc78 wrote:Lots of evidence is telling us that applying in January is not going to be the disadvantage it was in the past. OP, you should retake.

Would you recommend retaking Feb. or June?runinthefront wrote:WL'd from Duke last year with a similar GPA and an LSAT 10+ points higher. You should consider enrolling in 2016. Give yourself enough prep time to really nail your retake.160_and_Above wrote:Would you recommend retaking Feb. or June?runinthefront wrote:WL'd from Duke last year with a similar GPA and an LSAT 10+ points higher. Retake in June
But that doesn't mean you resume prep in May
Start now and bump this thread again once you get your June score back and you're flexing on us all

Re: Too Late to Apply?
I got into Texas this cycle with similar stats...AA URM and a veteran. I applied the day the application opened however.
I also sacrificed a virgin Sooner to Bevo...
