Help me get this URM thing straight?

Post by iluvcash » Sun Oct 05, 2014 2:35 am

:!: I'm Not Here to Debate Affirmative Action, Please Refrain from Doing So, I would just like to know.
That if a black URM that:
1. goes to a state school
2. with (what I consider) a substandard 3.6 lsac gpa
3. no extraordinary extracurriculars
4. with 2 basic good (nothing exemplary) recommendations
5. a 165+ LSAT
6. No outright horrible PS or application
7. no sig work experience

Can have a GREAT chance at most T14 or even Harvard/Stanford with a 170+ LSAT??

This just boggles my mind :?

btw: I am black and hispanic

I don't get it. Anyone (not just URMs) with a 3.6 and a 170+ has a great chance at most T-14s. 165/3.6 is a stretch, but there have been non-URMs that get in T-14s with those stats.

I'm also AA similar GPA, from what I've seen and researched, yes. You can get into H or S if you have those stats. There aren't very many of us with both a good gpa and a 165+ lsat score.

I think what OP is asking is basically if a 3.6 165+ AA can get into Harvard and T14, with just those numbers. I think he/she believes non-AAs need to have cured cancer to get into the top schools haha
