Both parents from africa, am i URM?
hey guys, so both mom and dad are from east Africa, 4th and 5th generation. I of course am the 1st generation american born citizen. I know a URM is defined as someone who is african america/black.... although im not black, my family is from Africa, can i claim to be a urm?

According to LSAC, the census, and DOE, African-American means having ancestry in the black peoples of Africa, so I would say no. Also, there's a thread that discusses this already (so if you'd like to address it further, you can post in the thread below).
